Workshop – Intro to Kamiak HPC

CIRC will host a hands-on introductory workshop introducing basic HPC concepts and teaching users to submit jobs to an HPC. Learn to utilize freely available computing resources on WSU’s Kamiak HPC to power your research!

In order to participate in this training, you will need:

  • An account on Kamiak.
    • If you do not have an account, a temporary account for you will be created for the workshop.  However, it is preferred that you get a permanent account with a sponsoring PI.
    • New account requests can be made at https://wsu-its.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1 –> Logins and Accounts –> Request an Account.
  • A device that you can use to access Kamiak
    • Windows 10 users should have the Windows Subsystem for Linux and Ubuntu installed before the training session.
      • Please see the Kamiak Cheat Sheet, Appendix 1 for instructions on installing Ubuntu on Windows 10.
      • If any Windows users are not running Windows 10, please inform us before the training session.
    • Please test your ability to connect in advance by following the instructions here: https://hpc.wsu.edu/users-guide/terminal-ssh/
    • If you do not have a laptop that you can bring, WSU Libraries have rentals here:https://libraries.wsu.edu/services/laptops
